Andrea Vicari was born in Miami Florida, educated at Cardiff University and The Guildhall in London where she formed her first important group with Julian Arguelles (sax) & Stuart Hall on bass. She has released four CDs in her own name, "Suburban Gorillas","Lunar Spell"; "Tryptych" and "Mango Tango"; and worked with the creme of the UK jazz scene including Phil Bent, David Jean Baptiste, Don Weller, Dick Pearce, Mornington Lockett, Tim Whitehead, Tim Garland etc. plus USA trumpet legend Art Farmer and American sax guru Eddie Harris. She began teaching when still at school and her experience and  training  includes work with adults and children at all levels of ability. Currently she holds a position as Senior Lecturer and Professor of Jazz Piano at Trinity College of Music, one of  Europe's leading conservatoires.
